Desiring a refined celebration in a rustic setting, Caroline and David chose a beautiful ranch on the Brazos River in which to host their nuptials. Since the celebration took place outdoors, the goal of the décor was to emphasize the beautiful wide-open spaces of the venue. Between two stone urns filled with pink, ivory, and light green hydrangeas and peonies, the couple exchanged vows as guests witnessed the service from white chairs surrounded by the natural beauty of the setting.
Following an alfresco cocktail hour, guests made their way inside the tent to enjoy the reception. In the center of the tented structure, a lush floral-embellished chandelier was suspended overhead. Round reception tables were covered with vanilla and sky blue linens as well as high and low centerpieces. The evening was heavily personalized with food and drink: Menu selections included a taco station showcasing fried chicken or Baja shrimp tacos, and signature drinks, including the “Rio Loco” with Jack Daniels, Sprite, and lime juice and the “Sweet Caroline” with vodka, ginger beer, and lime juice, were served in monogrammed cups.
After dinner, the bride and groom cut into their two confections: The bride’s cake featured eight round layers adorned with fresh ivory flowers and ornate piping, and the groom’s cake showcased a replica of the couple’s beloved dog. The newlyweds and their guests danced the night away on a wooden dance floor to the sounds of a live band, who performed on a stage surrounded by a green boxwood hedge decorated with twinkling lights. When the night came to an end, the couple was sent off in a vintage Cadillac convertible before hopping on a private jet to their honeymoon destination.
