Duncan Butler and Brighton Keller Wedding Weekend

A Brighton Keller wedding day meant sweeping Austin views, four bridal gowns, and a grand Second Line exit as an ode to the bride’s Louisiana roots. There was so much exciting anticipation leading up to Brighton and fiance Duncan’s wedding day. Our photographer Matt had the privilege to spend time in Colorado, their new home, with the couple during their engagement portrait session ahead of their big Texas wedding weekend. John was also able to capture the bride at Stanley Korshak during one of her fittings for her four (yes, four!) wedding weekend dresses. By the time our photography team arrived in Austin, we were so excited to see this couple get married.

Brighton worked with the lovely and professional Barbara Shorts of Verve Austin to coordinate her Austin wedding weekend. Though the couple met and lived in Dallas, the Omni Barton Creek became the perfect venue option for the bride, a UT-grad, and the groom, an Austin native. Not to mention, Duncan popped the question to Brighton at the resort as well! Wedding day, Brighton, Duncan, and their wedding party spent the morning getting ready and building excitement all across the venue, in separate quarters of course. After getting ready, the bridesmaids had their ‘first look’ at Brighton on a stunning overlook on the property. Brighton and Duncan’s ‘first look’ followed and their shock and awe was a favorite moment to remember!

To the melody “10,000 Reasons”, Brighton walked down the aisle with her father. The ceremony was held at a scenic overlook on the back of the resort, the aisle ending with a greenery-adorned cross and a beaming groom. The ceremony itself meant a great deal to the couple and this was reflected in the emotion of the ceremony. After their vows and first kiss, they came back down the aisle to ‘Come and Get Your Love’ in a full celebration.

Inside the window-lined reception space, Brighton really wanted to bring the outdoors in. She worked with Jackson Durham Events to layer the tall ceilings with greenery and lanterns to fill the space. Mimicking the style of the Omni Barton Creek, the reception aesthetic was relaxed, yet sophisticated, with a touch of Texan flair. After cocktail hour, Brighton and Duncan kicked off the festivities with their first dance underneath the hanging lanterns. Brighton’s wedding dress had a very full train which flowed and twirled memorably during both her first dance with Duncan and later with her father. As the band continued to play, Brighton changed from her ballgown into a chic, reception dress she custom designed with Mackenzie Brittingham. The newlyweds and guests remained on the dance floor until the evening closed!

To cap the evening and commemorate Brighton’s Louisiana roots, the couple led the second line into a sea of sparklers—an epic ending to a wedding day we have to say was a total #SlamDunc.
