There are weddings that feel beautifully planned, and then there are weddings that feel deeply lived in. Bridget and Conor’s weekend at Sea Island was the latter, layered with family tradition, intentional details, and the kind of joy that settles in slowly over the course of a weekend.
For Bridget, getting married at Sea Island was never really a question. “Getting married in Sea Island was always my dream,” she shared. After years of family trips to the Georgia coast, the destination already carried decades of memories before the wedding weekend even began. Conor quickly understood why. What started as Bridget’s dream naturally became theirs.
The wedding itself reflected that same balance of elegance and ease. Bridget, an interior decorator with a meticulous eye for detail, poured herself into every layer of the design. From linens and florals to the overall flow of the reception space, every choice felt intentional without ever feeling overdone. “To see it all together, I was just like, ‘Oh my gosh, we did it. It all came to life,’” she said.
The ceremony at the The Cloister felt almost cinematic; golden light pouring through the trees, a string quartet playing softly, and a scene filled entirely with the people who knew them best. In one of the couple’s favorite moments, the music paused during Ave Maria, giving them a quiet moment to simply look around and take it all in together.
“It felt like we were in a fairy tale,” Bridget remembered. “The sun was perfect, the birds were chirping — it was unreal.”
Throughout the day, there was a noticeable calm between them. Bridget traded traditional heels for white tennis shoes so she could stay fully present, while Conor spent the morning getting ready at The Lodge at Sea Island, where grooms who marry there receive a plaque permanently placed inside the men’s locker room: one of many meaningful traditions woven throughout the weekend.
After the ceremony, guests followed a bagpiper through the property toward cocktail hour, a nod to both Conor’s family traditions and Sea Island itself. Meanwhile, the newlyweds slipped away for portraits beneath the moss-covered oaks as the light turned soft and golden. The images feel timeless, equal parts editorial and intimate, capturing not just how the day looked, but how it felt.
As the evening came to a close, Bridget found herself standing on the dance floor with a realization she’ll never forget. “I remember my mom and dad walking out of the room while we were dancing, and I had this moment of, ‘This is my family now. This is the family we’re building together.’” And in many ways, that became the heartbeat of the entire weekend: not just a beautiful celebration, but the beginning of something lasting.
