Why does John Cain Photography have a brick and mortar? To answer this question we answer what makes us different. The W. Lovers Lane studio was built with a bride and her mother in mind, as is the rest of our photography process. Whether a bride converses with our photographers for the first time in the meeting room, surrounded by beautifully framed portraits from weddings past, or relives wedding day reviewing images in our inspiring treillage viewing room, we strive to make every bride, mother of the bride, groom, planner, or friend feel at home.
Our interior designer and friend Melissa Lacy placed a hospitable spirit at the heart of our studio’s design. She stressed the importance of architectural details (among many design elements) to give each room personality and character. From treillage walls to hexagonal ceilings, each room personifies it’s purpose—a meeting room built like a social living room, a light-filled viewing room with an inspiring clean environment, a large built-in studio for pure photographic purpose. Even John’s office, which broke a part from the rest of the studio’s palette, brings individual value because clients and planners peak behind the curtain of what inspires John personally.
I’m a firm believer there is an interdisciplinary connection between weddings, interior design, and fashion. For months, brides plan tablescape, room layout, and outfit coordination so it’s no surprise these disciplines influence and source inspiration. Beyond inspiration, we want to be a safe space in a stressful time. Our studio facilitates countless conversations centered around creating the ‘best day of your life’; not to mention, it facilitates space for a motivated team to do their best work.
