Kate and Nick’s love story began on a foundation of friendship and love of the outdoors. While working as mountaineers in British Columbia, they shared common ground in their Texas roots and sparks flew. On September 30th, Kate and Nick tied the knot in Dallas, Texas, the same state that brought them together!
For her wedding, Kate chose a natural white gown made of silk Mikado by Romona Keveza. The gown featured a low square neckline and fluted chapel length skirt with buttons along the length of the gown. Kate topped off her bridal look with a special touch by wearing her mother’s veil, which was created by her grandmother.
The Burrin’s ceremony was held at Park Cities Presbyterian Church, a significant location to the bride and her family. Mr. and Mrs. Burrin paid homage to Nick’s Dutch heritage in their choice of floral arrangements and invitations, which featured Dutch Parrot tulips. Before the ceremony, Kate and Nick did a first look under the willow trees. The look on Nick’s face as Kate made her way towards him was one of true happiness and excitement. After that moment, I’m sure he was ready to get down the aisle and make it official. And so they did! Vows were exchanged, rings were presented and off they went to celebrate with their loved ones.
The reception was held at the beautiful Nasher sculpture center, an architectural wonder showcasing magnificent works of art, graceful arching willow trees, and twinkling string lights. Flowers of blush pink, pale yellow, tangerine orange and lush greens scattered the venue, working in harmony with the sculptural elements. Wooden tables were draped with green runners, fresh fruits, and ivory dining chairs. The warm brown tones of the furniture, ivory accents of the linens and natural greenery complemented the space.
Nick and Kate incorporated many elements to their special day that made it uniquely their own, including their first dance song. Living in Seattle, Kate and Andrew are fans of the Washington based band the Dip. They danced to Adeline, a song that Kate described as having a timeless melody. As she twirled around the dance floor, she showed off her adorable blue cowboy boots. I am going to need a pair myself now! *Adds to cart* Friends and family joined the newlyweds on a packed dance floor.
The party was truly in full swing when Elvis entered the room. An excellent touch courtesy of the mother of the bride. After the King of Rock ‘N’ Roll gave a tribute to Kate and Nick, it was back to dancing and even a little bit of crowd surfing! Surrounded by love and confetti, the Burrins departed with a band of horns.
