Married at Ma Maison

In early April, when Texas wildflowers were in full bloom, Allison and Harrison were married at Ma Maison in Dripping Springs, Texas. They had come a long way since their college days at Washington and Lee. The pair met when they bumped into each other on campus their freshman year. A mutual friend told Allison to look out for Harrison, so when she saw him, she had to grab a selfie. From then on, the pair were fast friends which budded into romance two years later. Six years of dating culminated in a Spring wedding celebration!

For her wedding day, Allison wore a Mira Zwillinger a-line gown with leaf embroidery throughout the bodice. It had long sheer sleeves and a flattering waistband.

The ceremony took place outdoors under an arch of spectacular florals. Allison’s love for Otomi patterns and wildflowers inspired her choice of peachy roses, blush butterfly ranunculus, blue delphinium, and peach ranunculus. The ceremony venue sits on the edge of the lake, sparkling with golden light as the sun began to fall. A string quartet played as Allison entered with her father. 

After making it official with a kiss, Allison and Harrison were Mr. and Mrs. Proffitt! With their arms in the air and smiles on their faces, they recessed down the aisle as husband and wife to “Take Me Home Country Roads”, an ode to their alma mater, Washington and Lee.

Let cocktail hour commence! Guests mingled and sipped on drinks on the lawn. Donkeys mozied around the party with packs on their backs filled with beer. Now that’s my kind of bottle service! After drinks and chatting, the party transitioned indoors to the venues’ great hall. 

The charming reception space had an exposed truss ceiling and crystal chandeliers. The hall was elegantly decorated with green vines sprawling down the grand staircase leading towards the dancefloor. It felt like an indoor garden, with greenery covering what seemed like every corner. At the bottom of the staircase, five tiers high, stood the cake for all to see. Details on each tier mimicked the leaf embellishments on Allison’s Mira Zwillinger gown. Underneath the cake were flower boxes, which complimented the garden aesthetic. . Flowers came up from each table, and even hung from the ceiling! Ribbons of white flowers dripped down from a suspended ceiling above the dancefloor.

Mr. and Mrs. Proffitt entered their reception from the grand staircase for their first dance as newlyweds. After a sweet slow dance to “Run” by George Strait, Allison turned up the energy during her dance with her father to one of his favorites, Dancing Queen. With cocktails in hand, guests joined in on the dancefloor fun. As the party continued, looking from above, it was a sea of blue light up cowboy hats. To end the night, Allison and Harrison shared one private last dance before exiting in a tunnel of sparklers.
