On June 11, 2022, Emily and Will were married at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. “I remember the large, wood doors opened up into the church, the organ was playing, and my dad and I started walking down the aisle. It was my first-time seeing Will all day and it was a feeling I can’t explain, but unlike anything I’ve ever experienced – it was amazing!” Emily describes her wedding as “timeless, classic and elegant”. Kelly Donan brought Emily’s vision to life in a reception held at River Oaks Country Club in Houston.
Post ceremony celebrations took place in the main ballroom, which was beautifully decorated with votives and a classic black and white checkered dance floor. Flowers for the reception were done by Fleur de Vie. Light pink roses, touches of green and white hydrangeas covered the tables and bar.
For their first dance as husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Beaudoin danced to You’re My Best Friend by Queen. After dancing, it was time for cake! The Chocolate Llama did both the bride and groom’s cake. Emily’s cake was an elegant five tier creation with flowers covering each layer. They toasted with champagne before checking out the groom’s cake, which Will designed himself! “The Canadian flag represents where Will lived until he was 12. His family then moved to Florida which is the reason behind the shape of the actual cake. He attended college and graduated from The Citadel in Charleston, SC. The flag on the right is The Citadel flag and the ring is a replica of his class ring. After graduation, Will served our country and went into the military (U.S. Army) which is represented by the American flag (he loves America!). He wanted a unique cake that showed his past and this was the perfect way!”
Mr. and Mrs. Beaudoin spent the night on the dance floor with family and friends. Cowboy hats, glow sticks and flower leis were passed out as the party hit its peak. “The band was incredible, and their energy was contagious. I don’t think we left the dance floor all night.”
As celebrations winded down, Emily and Will snuck in one last private dance. “Our last dance was special since it was the first time we were alone and able to have a conversation after getting married.” They left River Oaks in a shower of petals before hopping into their vintage getaway car. “We left in a 1963 Rolls Royce Convertible and as the car pulled out giant sparklers lining the drive went off – it felt like we were in a movie!”
