Happily ever Harris! Lana and John said “I do” in an early summer wedding in Dallas. The ceremony took place at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with reception festivities following at the Petroleum Club of Dallas. Lana was drawn to the Petroleum club because of its’ amazing view overlooking downtown Dallas.
Lana worked with Caroline Events to bring her wedding dreams to life. Caroline helped execute Lana’s vision for a timeless and fresh celebration. Lana shared “I wanted to always look back at photos of my wedding and think “wow this is so beautiful” even 20 years later. I aimed to keep it classic but also fresh and updated. I loved the idea of light blues and pinks, and whites and creams for the start of summer. And during my first phone call with my amazing planner, Caroline Fair, I told her I loved fresh flowers and wanted them everywhere! I was not disappointed!” A key element of the reception decor was the floral tunnel leading from cocktail hour to the reception space. The tunnel was covered in fresh flowers and greenery from top to bottom. Lana worked with GRO Designs on all things floral. “They truly took my vision of a room full of fresh flowers and brought it to life in ways I never could have imagined. Nathan, with GRO Designs, saw the potential for that darkly lit hallway and transformed it into the floral tunnel of my dreams! It was a show stopper and the perfect photo moment for guests. I was in awe when I saw it for the first time and may have shed a few tears!”
Another reception highlight was John’s surprise groom’s cake designed by Fancy Cakes by Lauren. It was an unbelievable model of Lana and John in front of his boat, all of which was displayed on top of an ice sculpture. “The year we met, he got his boating license and some of our best memories are out on the boat with his family in Connecticut. I thought it would be a fun surprise to honor something he worked hard for and loves to do. The cake was absolutely amazing and realistic. And the ice sculpture of waves underneath was incredible! He loved it!” Lana shared.
A memorable moment of the evening for Mr. and Mrs. Harris was singing “Don’t Stop Believing” up on stage with the band. “It is a moment I’ll never forget. I was having so much fun singing with John and then I looked out and the dance floor was packed with friends and family having a blast. Knowing everyone was having a great time was all I ever wanted. It was kind of a “we made it” feeling.”
Congratulations to the recently-wed Mr. and Mrs. Harris!!
