In the historic elegance of Dallas’ Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, Megan and Caleb celebrated their wedding day, marking a new chapter of their journey from MBA classmates to marriage. Their wedding day incorporated many personal details and reflections of their shared history. Megan shares insights into their story, the planning process, and the unforgettable moments that marked their wedding weekend.
Megan reminisces about their first meeting during their MBA program at SMU, sharing, “Caleb and I met during our MBA program at SMU. We started the program in 2019, but didn’t get to know each other until late summer of 2020!” Their friendship transitioned into love with a little encouragement from their peers. “We were friends for a couple months, but started dating December 2020 after a few classmates encouraged us to get to know each other more!”
The proposal was a carefully chosen moment that took place at a location of significance. Megan fondly recalls, “Caleb proposed in August 2022 in the backyard of my family’s house on Nantucket in Massachusetts! Nantucket has been an extremely special place to my family for a little over a decade now.”
Wedding planning was soon underway as the future Mr. & Mrs. Bardin prepared to tie the knot. Megan found the wedding planning process to be a journey filled with joy and meaningful moments. “We truly loved just seeing everything come together, piece by piece,” she says, appreciating how each element reflected their personalities. The involvement of her mom was particularly meaningful: “I personally loved spending so much time with my mom during the process – this wedding would’ve been nothing without her!”
The decision to hold their wedding at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek was influenced by their desire for an intimate yet accommodating space to host their loved ones. Megan explains, “We loved that the Mansion is a historic place located right within Dallas, yet it feels as if you are at someone’s quiet home outside of the city.” This venue perfectly aligned with their vision of an elegant, memorable day.
When describing the theme of their wedding, Megan sought inspiration from classic romance and elegance. “Traditional, elegant, romantic, celebration, memorable – I was always thinking of the Father of the Bride movie while planning!” she shares, highlighting their aim to create a timeless celebration. The importance of including personal elements in their wedding was paramount. Megan shared, “One of our number one priorities when it came to decor details was to incorporate our dogs, Aspen and Lola, wherever we could.” Additionally, “the groom’s cake was a nod to our fun rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys (Caleb’s family) and Philadelphia Eagles (my family).”
The decision to have an after-party was intentional, aiming to extend the celebration in a vibrant, music-filled atmosphere. Megan notes, “We did go in knowing we wanted an after party,” with a focus on including a DJ and a shift in theme to incorporate her favorite color, pink. “I wanted pink because it is my favorite color but I knew I didn’t want pink at the reception,” she explains, illustrating their desire to blend tradition with personal preferences.
Megan and Caleb’s wedding at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek was a heartfelt celebration of their love, filled with personal stories, thoughtful details, and moments of joy. It’s a true honor to have been a part of your wedding weekend, Megan and Caleb!
