STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE
Like when staying with a five-star hotel, regardless of which room category you select, comprehensive amenities and a complete hotel experience await you. Our service aims to delight and exceed expectations. Similar to The Ritz-Carlton’s incomparably consistent hotel experience, we present our services in three different categories: essential, artful, and complete coverage.
At John Cain Photography, regardless of the amount of coverage your event requires, you can be sure you will receive:

- A defined photo list and itinerary to guide your day, and share with everyone involved.

- A direct-download of all of the digital images within the gallery above, providing ownership of your images.

ESSENTIAL SERVICES
You only get once chance to do this right. Our modus operandi is that we don’t cut corners, and we never aim for bare minimum. You never know when or how soon these images will all of a sudden be the most valuable recollection you have of a loved one. We take that very seriously. If you had to choose which of the images here you would remove from their gallery, which perspective you’d completely eliminate in these irreplaceable moments, we have a hunch you’d agree with us in the context of all that goes into a wedding, these are very important. That’s why we call each of these components ESSENTIAL.
Three Photographers
When it comes to your wedding not only do we not want to leave anything to chance, but we also want to capture otherwise impossible moments that three people are capable of, way beyond the industry standard of a photographer just having a “second shooter”. This is why our typical standard coverage is for three photographers for ten hours to capture a wedding that meets our expectations for our clients.
Beginning To End Coverage
Arriving with time to guide you every step of the way, and ending the day having captured every moment you experienced or will be excited to see that was happening simultaneously in another room is what we do. When it comes to creating a proposal for your wedding coverage, we start with the date, the number of locations, and the number of guests in order to inform how many photographers and how many hours would best capture your wedding with digital photography. From there, we want to know how what we do could make your dreams a reality.
Engagement Portraits
An engagement portrait session creates even more excitement for what’s to come, and most importantly connects you with your photographer to meaningfully set the stage for wedding day. Concerns about feeling natural in front of the camera are totally relieved by an hour or so together in a more comfortable environment, which inevitably also helps you look more natural in your photos too. The session itself creates a muscle-memory for posing that makes the photography on wedding day feel like a piece of cake!

Bridal Portraits
A bridal portrait session offers incomparable assurance through an opportunity to see the dress, hair style, bouquet, accessories, and make up choices come together – so that you can relax on the wedding day knowing that all of the selections have been perfected beautifully. The portraits for us are a secondary reward to the confidence that working with you in your gown prior to the wedding day brings for both you and your photographer.

PREMIUM SERVICES
As you decide what are your “nice to haves” in wedding planning, we want to offer our best capabilities to those who truly prioritize photography. Your photos will capture more than the whirlwind weekend of celebrating. They will reflect the intentional details that you will be spending so much time thoughtfully preparing. While not essential per se, if you love your incorporated details like your invitations, heirlooms, and fashion choices, wouldn’t you want them beautifully captured to add their beauty to your images? And if you choose a special location, wouldn’t a sweeping scene-setting view from above enhance your memory of how magical it really was?
Styled Details
Capturing all of your day-of details (invitations, rings, shoes, etc…) ahead of time gives us the dedicated time to have acute attention to each and every detail, and allows our total focus to be on you and the ones you love most on the wedding day. The unique focus on these artistic details separately without distraction results in masterfully composed images for you to include in your album, without missing a split second of the wedding day attempting to achieve a similar result.
Drone overage
Aerial perspectives can be incorporated to capture more scenic and otherwise impossible shots. Whether in a breathtaking setting, or a table that is set to immaculate perfection, the view from above can be jaw dropping. Often these images are the pièce de résistance of an album, creating an all encompassing image that magnifies how truly spectacular the whole thing was.
Film Photography
There is something truly remarkable about how uniquely film captures an unmatched glow, artful movement, color, and a more dynamic range of light than digital can. We create artistic opportunities in how we incorporate medium format and 35mm film. Our principal photographers all have years of experience to masterfully capture what’s before them. Once you see the film difference, the standalone effect on a single image can make it truly worth enlarging and framing as an art piece in your future home. Simply put, we find it enchanting.
Art Direction
For our most discerning clients, we lead the vision and meet with you to draw out creative ideas and source inspiration to be interwoven with an event designer, stationer, and wardrobe styling envisioning how each and every detail will visually align and intersect.
COMPLETE COVERAGE
The more time that we spend with you, the richer your experience will be and ultimately this will have a profound impact on the resulting images. We believe that these adjacent events exponentially amplify our connection to the couple, your family, and the work itself.
Ceremony Rehearsal
The most intimate moments are captured in the ceremony rehearsal as everyone gathers to prepare for the big day. It also allows a peace of mind knowing that your photographers have walked the space in a rehearsal format as well. Often, there are no restrictions on photography for the rehearsal, so more intimate perspectives can be captured here than are typically possible in front of guests.
Rehearsal Dinner
Often the night-before is just as meaningful of an event with your closest of close there to reflect on your fondest memories and encourage you towards your future together. We also see this night as valuable for capturing important family moments and portraits that are frame-worthy but not black-tie like the wedding day.
Wedding Week Portraits
These are such a FUN opportunity to make an additional date-night memory before the wedding. We’ve seen these used by families to do something special with just the immediate family, and also with just the couple to incorporate one more outfit, and to set the tone and create a deeper familiarity for the wedding week with their photographer.
Welcome Party
When you have a series of events leading up to the wedding day beyond the rehearsal dinner, your memories aren’t isolated to any singular event. Each day will fly by faster than you may realize. What we love most about a wedding weekend kick off is the visual build up of excitement as guests arrive and are greeted, and seeing a celebration play out in full.
Bridal Luncheon
A Southern staple, a rare moment and event exclusively for the bride, we cherish capturing the time-honored relationships that frequently surround the bridal luncheon. Grandmothers, aunts, mothers, bridesmaids, cousins, close friends all arrive in support of the bride-to-be and the relationships that converge often recount sentimental (and hilarious) memories that make for memories just as special as the other weekend events.
Wedding Adjacent Events-Activities
A boating excursion. Horseback riding. Fly fishing. Hiking. Yoga. Pool party. Tennis tournament. Pickleball competition. PJ/DJ Party. Mahjong night. We’ve seen all kinds of events and activities with friends and family surrounding a wedding weekend. These are usually the pinnacle of FUN. In contrast to the formality and depth of wedding day, these are the fleeting carefree moments with your people that make for unforgettable moments in-between the festivties.
The After Party
After the reception, after parties keep the fun going! If you’re planning to prolong the party with a new outfit, late night entertainment, food, and other merriment, chances are it’s worth capturing. If anything, the uninhibited nature of continued revelry certainly makes for great memories.
Day-After Wedding Brunch
Sweet farewells and everyone reminiscing on how fantastic the weekend was creates an opportunity to reflect and soak up one last time with friends and family that came from near and far all to celebrate you. We’re there to capture the last hugs, the last well-wishes, and the expressions of joy and awestruck gratitude as the weekend comes to a bitterwseet close.
