This weekend’s celebration carries a depth far beyond the details, after a year marked by profound challenges. Lyndsay and Cody lost their home in September in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, a devastating fire that tested their strength and reminded them what truly matters. Through loss, rebuilding, and resilience, they’ve held onto what matters most: love, family, and the joy of simply being together. That spirit will no doubt shape this weekend in the most meaningful way.
What began with two nearly identical English cream golden retrievers bringing them together has turned into something enduring, romantic, and entirely their own. This week, we celebrate Lyndsay and Cody as they say “I do” surrounded by their families, closest friends, and, of course, their beloved golden girls, Luna and Kauai. Their wedding vision is rooted in elegance, sentiment, and meaningful details, each moment carefully considered, every element telling a part of their story.
Theirs is also a story marked by unforgettable milestones. They got engaged in Capri, Italy, a location that held deep meaning for Lyndsay, whose beloved grandmother was Italian, who has passed but remains a powerful presence in her life. Then they held their engagement portraits at a beach in Florida, near Cody’s family home, where Cody spent countless evenings walking Kauai. It was the perfect backdrop: familiar, personal, and full of heart.
The setting for their wedding is just as intentional. They chose Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina after Lyndsay spent time living in the state and fell in love with the charm, the landscape, and the calm beauty of the region. The Spanish moss, one of her favorite details, sets the tone for a weekend that’s both timeless and transportive. For their guests, it’s not just a destination, it’s an experience, a glimpse into a place and feeling Lyndsay wanted to share.
The weekend will be especially poignant with their families gathered in one place, a beautiful occasion given the distance that separates them day to day. Luna and Kauai will serve as flower girls (tails wagging, we’re sure), and the celebration will be full of thoughtful touches: from nods to Cody’s love of bourbon and golf, to a dessert spread designed for his very sweet tooth.
Lyndsay’s “something old” is especially moving: a piece of her grandmother’s dress, wrapped around her bouquet and sewn into the ring bearer’s pillow. Her engagement ring also carries inspiration from her grandmother’s, yet another way she’ll be surrounded by echoes of love from generations past.
As they prepare to exchange vows this week, it’s clear this wedding is more than a day, it’s a golden reflection of resilience, legacy, and a true, enduring love.
