The invitation suite is consistently one of my favorite details of any wedding. I always look forward to seeing them as it so often dictates the tone and style of the wedding that the couple hopes to achieve. In my head it is the initial onset of the first vision of what the wedding will look like, which is always exciting to think about! While we have seen a vast array of different styles over the years, we consistently see invitations that are beautifully traditional. However, we also see fun pops of personality from time to time.
Margretta Wikert from Ellis Hill and Jill Sour with Stamped Paper Co offered their insights into what they expect to see in terms of invitation suites in 2021. Both mentioned that many couples are adding notes of personalization in unique ways such as having a nod to their venue, watercolor motifs, or custom crests to marry a traditional style with modern touches. Jill Sour noted that as receptions become bigger this year, couples are really having fun with their reception invites and including more color while keeping things a bit more casual. Traditional style always remain popular and stand the test of time with touches of calligraphy, monograms, and pops of gold. Margretta offers that when designing your invitations you should make it a reflection of you!
