It was a hometown wedding celebration for Annie and William in Shreveport, Louisiana! Annie and William first met when they were in high school at Loyola College prep, right next door to the cathedral they were married in. “He was working a summer job with my Dad at his law firm as a Runner and my dad came home one day complaining about how this employee that went to Loyola that he taught how to make copies.” Annie shared. While attending a school fundraising event, Annie met William for the first time where he asked her out on a date. Annie agreed to dinner, which ended up leading to a date to prom and a new relationship! This all took place in August of 2013 and the two have been together ever since.
In April of 2021, William asked Annie to be his wife at Our Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral right outside of Audubon park in New Orleans. “I had an idea that it was coming, but I thought it was going to be the next weekend, so I was very surprised. We had lunch in the French quarter and then later our family surprised us at dinner at Ralph’s on the park where we had a private room and balcony and then the best surprise was when a party bus showed up after dinner packed with all our best friends.”
After a year and a half of planning with Delia Jeffcoat Events, Annie and William’s wedding day finally arrived on May 27th, 2023! The Sirvens tied the knot at St. John’s Cathedral, where William and Annie went to mass together all throughout high school. “The priest that married us has been a lifelong friend to both of our families and also married my parents and baptized me!”
Reception festivities were held at East Ridge Country Club. Upon the Sirvens arrival to the club, an impressive fireworks display welcomed family and friends to the wedding celebration! The reception took place inside a beautiful transparent tent decorated in vibrant shades of pink. “I knew that I wanted everything to be pink and I wanted a ton of flowers! I had watched The Colony House’s Instagram for years and knew that Kyle had to do my flowers at the wedding. He and Delia worked together with me for over 18 months to really bring my pink vision to life.” Annie wanted the inside of the tent to feel like a plant nursery. Beautiful blooms covered the table tops, the cake, floral arches at each entryway and even the chandelier above the dance floor. It was an incredible display of pink roses, peonies and ranunculus! Annie jokingly stated, “I think pink flowers may be back ordered for awhile in Shreveport hahah!” A fun decor aspect was the groom’s cake created for Stephen by Uptown Downton! “William is in the construction industry — he’s a project manager for an industrial construction company. He was dead set from Day 1 that his cake would be an excavator and that it would be huge! He loved his cake for sure!”
The evening ended with a tunnel of cold sparks and Mr. and Mrs. Sirven taking off in a vintage getaway car! Annie looks back on her wedding weekend blown away by it all. “The whole night was like a dream come true, fairytale. I was so so sad to leave the reception that night. I wanted it to last forever!! I had the time of my life having all our friends and family together celebrating, if I could do it all over again I wouldn’t change a thing !! — except ordering more Whataburger!”
