Up in the mountains of Colorado, Nicole and Kevin were united in marriage. They met four and a half years prior while both living in Denver.
Nicole describes her wedding as timeless, elegant, and classic set in the Rocky Mountains. “We are having a formal, New York-style wedding set in the mountains of Colorado.”
For her wedding day, Nicole wore a stunning gown by Monique Lhullier. “It is a modern floral embroidered lace tulle ball gown with a ballet bodice and scoop back. A custom lace cap-sleeve jacket will be worn for our Catholic marriage ceremony.” Nicole and Kevin were pronounced husband and wife at Beaver Creek Chapel. They recessed down the aisle and out of the chapel amidst bubbles. From the ceremony, Nicole and Kevin took a chairlift up the mountain where Matt caught an epic shot of Mr. and Mrs. Battis with Beaver Creek Village in the back. Following sunset portraits, Mr. and Mrs. Battis changed into their reception looks. Nicole removed her cap-sleeve jacket revealing a beautiful spaghetti strap neckline and Kevin sported a white dinner jacket.
The reception was held at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek’s Sawatch Ballroom. Suspended from the ballroom’s ceiling were beautiful white flowers hanging above the dancefloor. The room was elegantly decorated with green and white. Candles were lit on each table, creating a romantic atmosphere.
For their first dance, the new Mr. and Mrs. Battis danced to “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. At the close of their dance, Kevin picked up his bride and spun her around. At this point, guests, trumpeteers and a saxophonist joined the couple on the dance floor making for an electric, fun energy! A fun band was a crucial component for Kevin. Jordan Khan Orchestra truly delivered that and more. To close out the evening, Piano Man by Billy Joel was played in reference to Kevin’s days in college. “Kevin went to a small school in northern Minnesota, Saint John’s University, where at their college bar, the last song of the night was always Piano Man by Billy Joel. So, that will be the second to last song of the night at our reception!”
