Beyond the Curb with The Potted Boxwood

This past weekend we had the privilege of welcoming The Potted Boxwood into our studio. Christina, the bright personality behind The Potted Boxwood, graciously included us in her Instagram Live series “Beyond the Curb” where she tours the beautiful interior design inside the chic facades of the homes she typically features.

The dreary and cold afternoon only made opening our doors inside all the more warm and inviting. We must say thank you to Heath from Jackson Durham Events for ornamenting our front entry with an array of Dutch hydrangea, magnolia and fern. Also, please allow us to reiterate that our studio is so beautifully designed by our close friend Melissa Lacy. It was our joy to hear Christina enthusiastically share all that Melissa so thoughtfully and diligently created for our studio.

Melissa took our needs, wishes, and concerns into account and made a space that serves our clients needs while nodding at the hospitality of working in a cottage.

It all started with the Sister Parish Burmese pattern. Melissa indulged our desire for a jewel box covered in this print. It was an essential inspiration piece when designing our entire studio. Notes of its light blue nature found its way throughout the whole place and we love how Christina noticed how one pattern really informed the color story in the studio and made every design aspect feel intentional and complimentary to all the different rooms.

We also loved highlighting our Gracie Studio panels that serve as the the backdrops in the studio room for our portraiture. Melissa also created custom designed millwork made to fit a unique space in our bathroom that was inspired by traveling together to Provence. We tend to move too quickly to appreciate these details every single day. It was such a treat having Christina in the studio to remind us of how special the place is that we get to call “home”, and we hope she’ll return one day soon!
