Caroline and Chris’ paths first crossed at a Christmas party during a study day at Baylor University, just two weeks before graduation. After four and a half years of dating, Chris proposed at Caroline’s favorite place, her lake house with her entire family gathered there to celebrate the fourth of July. “He then took me to a surprise dinner celebration where a lot of our friends joined and we had a fun day on the lake the next day before all our friends left. It was better than I could have imagined!” Caroline shared.
On June 24th, 2023, Caroline began her wedding day getting ready at her house with all of her closest friends in Dallas. “It made the whole process a lot more exciting and less stressful! I also enjoyed taking a moment to myself before the ceremony to read a letter Chris had written to me, made me feel close to him even though I hadn’t seen him all day!” For her wedding, Caroline wore a gorgeous strapless gown from Warren Barron bridal salon.
The Lutzel’s ceremony took place at Park Cities Baptist Church with the reception following at the Thompson Hotel. The reception was a sea of blue hydrangeas beautifully executed by planner Molly with Pop Parties and David Kimmel Design. Arches of greenery stood tall around the ballroom and intricate floral arrangements of blue, green and indigo filled the space. At the center of the venue was a stunning five tier cake created by Fancy Cakes by Lauren. The design on each tier mimicked the detail on Caroline’s gown. Caroline’s decision to celebrate her reception at the Thompson was an easy one for her. “I knew as soon as I walked into the Thompson that it was the one. The Thompson was clean and elegant while also being timeless which is what I wanted from the whole day!”
Meaningful details to Mr. and Mrs. Lutzel were woven into the decor of their wedding day. “My dog, Maggie, passed away a few weeks before the wedding and I got to take a few of my portraits with her. I wanted a place to honor her and that was at the entrance where we had the portrait I took with her. It was also really important that the groom’s cake be decorated with details of Chris’s history in football! I wanted little details for Chris and guests to find in the newspaper article on the cake. Lastly, the magnolia leaves at the head table were from my front yard at my house. It was really nice to have a little piece of home with me that evening.”
Wishing you all of the best in your next chapter, Mr. and Mrs. Lutzel! Congratulations!
