Wedding weekends are rare, and so memorable for families and close friends. Getting to capture not only the wedding itself, but also the rehearsal dinner, is always something we cherish.
When we photograph a rehearsal dinner, the introductions start right away. Portraits on the wedding day fly by when our photographers have already met ‘Uncle Paul’ and ‘Nana’ and can easily pull them out of a crowd. Before the brisk pace of a wedding day, it’s nice to have an unhurried interaction with the families we’re about to share a monumental day with.
For brides that are wary of flaunting a potentially “trending” floral design or color scheme on the wedding day, the rehearsal dinner is a great outlet for the more creative, less traditional designs. We love getting the opportunity to see what kind of imaginative details our clients come up with when there’s a little less pressure, or a little less of a crowd. Some will even set a specific theme in place, which yields some of the most amazing attendee attire.
In the same vein, Rehearsal Dinner fashion has become one of our favorite things to scout. Cowboy boots, sequin fringe, custom clutches… A lot of the more daring, fashion-forward wardrobe choices are reserved for the night before the big day. These unique pieces are usually begging to be photographed, and we willingly oblige.
All in all, the rehearsal dinner is a night to relax, enjoy the company of loved ones, and relish in the anticipation of the happiest day of your life. Our contribution in getting to capture these beautiful nights is a bonus every single time!
