Katie Frierson and Max Young gathered their friends and family in celebration of their wedding and summer soirée at home in Louisiana. They took their vows at First Presbyterian Church in Shreveport where not only Katie’s siblings, parents, and grandparents have married, but Max’s parents as well so their traditional church ceremony held such significance for the entire family.
Katie was a beauty in an A-line Mira Zwillinger gown from Warren Barron Bridal which perfectly accented the summer chic affair held at her family’s farm. The farm has been in Katie’s family since 1919 and still actively managed by her father and brother so a tented wedding reception extending off the back of the home couldn’t have been a better fit for an occasion such as this. The clear tents were filled with chinoiserie jars, tables dressed in light blue linens, treillage backing the dance floor, and greenery entangled in the hanging gold pendants lighting the tented space. One of our favorite details was the light blue and white checkered dance floor in which Katie and Max held their first dance to the classic, “This Will Be”. White confetti burst around the dance floor in perfect time for a few twirls and an epic dip to end the first dance and open the dance floor.
Guests mixed and mingled in true garden party fashion until the evening came to a close. Katie and Max exited the tent and hopped into a vintage convertible with bouquets tied to the bumper. Sparklers lining the driveway flew as the new Mr. and Mrs. Young waved their loved ones a farewell!
