At the end of February, wedding bells rang out across Dallas, echoing the joyous union of Emily and John. Their wedding, held on a serendipitously sunny weekend, was a celebration of their love surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Emily and John’s love story began in June 2019, sparked with their meeting at Louie Louie’s piano bar in Deep Ellum, Dallas. Introduced through mutual friends, their connection was instantaneous and grew over shared moments and dreams. Dallas, a city pivotal to their relationship, naturally became the chosen setting for their wedding, infusing the event with deep personal significance.
John’s proposal set the stage for their heartfelt journey towards the altar. At Emily’s lake house in Shreveport, LA—a place that holds cherished memories and the spirit of her late father—John asked for her hand in marriage. The surprise continued as friends and family gathered at her childhood home to celebrate their engagement, marking the beginning of their new chapter together.
Emily’s bridal look was complemented by something old (her mother’s diamond necklace), something new (sparkling diamond bracelet and earrings from John), and something borrowed (a bracelet her father had given her mother). In lieu of something blue, Emily opted for a themed bridal shower, adding a creative twist to tradition.
The ceremony was a deeply emotional and beautiful affair, held in the church as per John’s wishes, reflecting their shared commitment to their faith. Emily recalls walking towards John at the altar, both overwhelmed with tears of joy. Holding hands, they felt an immense calmness, a confirmation that they were exactly where they were meant to be.
When it came to wedding decor, Emily envisioned an ambiance that was both timeless and elegant, with a modern twist. The venue was adorned in such a way that it reflected the couple’s sophisticated taste while also welcoming guests into a warm, celebratory space. From the floral arrangements to the lighting, every detail was curated to enhance the timeless elegance of their special day.
The reception was a lively celebration, with the dance floor never empty. Emily and John, alongside their family and friends, danced and sang through the night. The entire wedding weekend was a heartfelt tribute not only to their love but to the people and places that shaped them. From the pre-wedding celebrations at Mercat Bistro to the sunny, laughter-filled wedding day, every moment was filled with love and shared history.
