For Taylor and Doak, there was a lot of history behind their “I do”. After meeting in high school, the two became close friends. Somewhere between working together on student council, thrift shopping and standing lunches after football practice, some lasting impressions were made. The connection they made in high school withstood the test of time and years later, after they both had graduated from college, they began dating.
When it came time for a wedding, there was no question that Taylor’s cousin, Haylie Jackson of Haylie Paige events would plan it. Cousin as well as lifelong sidekick, Haylie also served as a bridesmaid on Taylor’s big day. The wedding ceremony and reception were held at The Four Seasons Las Colinas. Timeless and tasteful, this blue and white spectacle was as sentimental as it was stunning.
There were several sentimental touches that made this day even more significant. The pearl and diamond earrings worn by Taylor were a gift from her grandfather to her grandmother, worn by her mother on her wedding day. Another item passed down from mother to daughter was the pearl bracelet Taylor wore, also worn on her parent’s wedding day. Taylor’s aquamarine ring was her great grandmother’s, who she shares the middle name ‘Lorree’ with.
Taylor’s family heirlooms added such a special influence to an evening that was already incredibly beautiful to begin with! Hydrangea and delphinium blooms of blue and white dressed the ballroom at the Four Seasons. The soft color palette, along with the canopies of greenery made for a fresh, affable impression. The bride’s cake stood proudly in the middle of the ballroom. Baked and hand painted by Fancy Cakes by Lauren, this handsome cake included Taylor and Doak’s custom wedding emblem by Carly Creative Co. The groom’s cake reflected his past time of selling clothes on Ebay, as well as his love of the couple’s very special poodle, Maisey. Their four-legged companion was also featured during Taylor and Doak’s first look, in which Taylor surprised her groom by bringing her along.
Guests enjoyed great music, sipped on specialty cocktails and danced the night away as they celebrated the newly wed Mr. and Mrs. Parks. This wedding was a long time coming, and we’re certain there is a wonderful future ahead for Taylor and Doak! Wishing you all nothing but the best!
