Not everyone can say they were married at the top of a mountain, but for this couple, their vows were exchanged at 11,212 feet above sea level. Guests made their way up Aspen Mountain by way of the Silver Queen Gondola, which began the fête with a quintessential Aspen experience. Once on top, loved ones found their seats at wooden chairs and awaited the bride’s grand entrance as they took in the mountain views and fresh air to the sounds of a string quartet and harpist. If loved ones got chilly in the high altitude, throws were provided to stay cozy and warm. At last, the bride made her way down the white aisle runner, lined with moss-covered shepherd hooks suspending glass bud vases filled with ivory blooms, wearing a beautiful ball gown featuring a lace peplum overlay as she carried a garden rose bouquet. If not the gorgeous views, the pièce de résistance of the nuptials was the natural ceremony structure. Beneath an elegant arch of birch bark branches wrapped with greenery and ivory blooms, the couple exchanged vows between two stone urns on either side filled with similar blooms.
Following the proceedings, the couple made their way inside to meet guests – including an unexpected attendee, a fox! – in the elegant reception space. Classic décor was met with more modern styles for a relaxed soirée. A large chandelier in the center of room was adorned with greenery, ivory blooms, and suspended glass bud vases to continue the look of the ceremony décor. Chevron linen runners adorned tables as well as vanilla florals and plenty of candlelight, and guests sat at either chairs or booths. Following dinner, the couple’s stylish confection featuring ranunculus blossoms and succulents cascading from top to bottom was served. Glow sticks and other party necessities such as neon sunglasses were passed out on the dance floor, and the bride put on a knee-length dress, sparkling sandals, and a fur wrap capelet for their joyous sparkler exit.
