In early May, Franci Rooney & Corey Becker welcomed guests to Washington D.C. for their wedding weekend. Festivities began with a rehearsal dinner at the Hay-Adams Hotel. “The Hay is only a few blocks from our apartment and has one of the best bars in DC, in my opinion, so we knew about the space as an option for a long time. We loved the idea of being high up and overlooking the White House. It was such a classically DC venue.” Franci shared.
Arney Walker worked with Franci and Corey to coordinate and execute a beautiful rehearsal dinner. The inspiration behind the decor was a fun, festive, springtime feel with touches of pink. “We wanted to draw a contrast between the reception, and take advantage of the beautiful space!” Hot pink escort cards awaited guests upon their arrival for them to find their seats. Atop each table were lovely arrangements of green hydrangeas, blooming pink peonies and white daisies.
For her rehearsal dinner, Franci wore a black and white midi dress with a leg slit by Lela Rose. Beth Chapman, Franci’s wedding weekend stylist, helped her find the perfect look for the occasion.
The evening began with cocktails out on the patio overlooking the White House. The sun fell making for the perfect opportunity for guests to get portraits overlooking such a gorgeous view. Back inside, everyone found their seats for dinner and toasts. “The toasts were one of the highlights of the weekend, not just the dinner! I was openly weeping, especially at my sister’s lovely speech.” Franci shared. It was a gorgeous evening to kick-off the weekend! We can’t wait to share more of the Becker’s wedding day.
