Family Ties in Beaumont, Texas with Gabe and Dan

In September of 2019, Gabe and Dan met on their very first day of orientation at the new law firm they were both working at. Exactly three years from the day that they met, Dan proposed while they were on vacation in Cabo! “He proposed at the Esperanza on the beach! I was so surprised! We are actually getting married at the same hotel that he proposed in March! It is so special to us.” We can’t wait to be a part of their celebration in March of 2024. 

For their engagement portraits, Gabe and Dan chose a location with meaning to them. “We took our photos at my family home in Beaumont where I grew up. This house is so special to us and is very sentimental to me and my family. I grew up in Beaumont – it is a really special place, and a place I’m proud to be from, and I wanted to have photos there that we would treasure forever!” The property has been in Gabe’s family since the 1920s. “In the early 2000’s we renovated the main house – my Mom oversaw the renovation and design, while keeping the original house foundation – which is sentimental and symbolic. The house is the foundation of our family. We have been there since.”

One of Gabe’s sisters was married at the family home when she was in kindergarten, providing another cherished memory for the family. “I remember taking photos with Mary during her bridal portrait shoot next to the trees that we took some photos in front of during our session with John. We have so many memories and such a connection to the house and property that it made sense for us to take photos there – and now we have another amazing memory to add to the others!”

Gabe wore a variety of outfits for portraits, ranging from a mini monochromatic look to a long, colorful maxi. “I tried to stay true to myself and wear bright colors! I have been loving Zimmerman’s newest collection! The blue and yellow dresses are both Zimmerman, and the pink dress is Alexis.”

Looking forward to their wedding day, Gabe is most excited about getting married and going back to Cabo where they were engaged. “We are looking forward to celebrating the start of this next chapter of our lives with our closest friends and family! We both feel so lucky to have had such an amazing and supportive community throughout our lives, that we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter in such a beautiful place.”
