Hailey and Trey met the summer going into her sophomore year of college. “My sister and Trey had been friends for several years and she invited him to come meet a bunch of our friends out in Port Aransas, and we have become inseparable since.” In March of 2022, Trey proposed to Hailey in Aspen, Colorado. “One Thursday afternoon Trey came home from work and told me to pack my bags forsomewhere cold, but didn’t tell me where. I immediately had an idea we were heading to Aspen, because it is one of my favorite places to vacation and we go a few times a year. The next morning we got up for our flight and he told me we were going to Aspen. We got dressed one morning and went on a walk. He walked us to a bridge where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He surprised me afterwards with our dog and parents!”

Hailey’s inspiration for her wedding was centered around her flowers. “I wanted the florals to be everything! I wanted white, blush and a little bit of greenery so we went with that throughout everything in the decor.” Flowers covered the venue from the grand arrangements on the tables, to the budding blooms decorating her cake. The reception was held at Omni Barton Creek in Austin, Texas. The Gillingwaters gravitated towards the venue because of how open it was and the potential to transform the space and get creative with the help of planner Barbara with Verve Event Planning. Hanging above the stage was an incredible display of balloons floating like clouds. Hailey and Trey re-created Deep Eddy’s bar, a local favorite. “It’s one of our favorite local spots we hangout at. It has been around for years. It’s an Austin staple. Trey’s parents used to hangout there when they were in college.”

The Gillingwaters celebrated on stage while family and friends gathered around on the dance floor below. What a wonderful weekend with Hailey and Trey!! Congratulations!
