When asked about the most important part of wedding planning, Hanna says, “I wanted to make sure that Will and I actually spent time together.” This value of “togetherness” has been true ever since they met.
The two met in February 2022 in Sewanee, Tennessee, watching the Sewanee Tigers baseball game. Will lived in Atlanta and Hanna was headed there in May, so they agreed to grab dinner once she arrived. In the meantime, texts led to phone calls, which led to FaceTime calls. When May rolled around, their desire to be together was fulfilled. A first date turned into a happy weekend full of plans.
Two and a half years later, the couple said “I do” at the Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas, Hanna’s church in her hometown and where her parents were married decades ago.
For the rehearsal dinner, Hanna wore a pencil skirt dress custom-made by Nardos Design, with elements from her mother’s wedding gown incorporated into the dress’s oversized cream flowers. And the wrap on her bouquet combined pieces from both her mom’s and Will’s mom’s wedding dresses.
Hanna wore a necklace made from her late grandmother’s engagement ring, “something old.” Her “something new” was a pair of earrings given to her by her father for the special day. Her “something borrowed” was a diamond bracelet that belonged to Will’s great-grandmother. And her “something blue” was her shoes. Her wedding day gown was by Monique Lhuillier, a silk, strapless bodice gown with a trumpeted skirt.
Hanna and Will say that the big day was seamless and fun. “Even though there were so many people, I felt like I was able to spend a lot of quality time with the majority of the people there,” Hanna said. And Will was thrilled about the food stations, including a raw bar, carving station, chicken station, and bourbon bar — everything with a touch of bacon.
The duo partied into the night surrounded by friends and family at the Willow Brook Country Club. The whole day was truly personal and unforgettable.
