Joyful and festive are the two words Jaclyn used to describe her wedding to Thomas at Rosewood Miramar Beach. It was important to her to prioritize fun, and avoid anything that felt too formal. In reference to her inspiration behind the decor, Jaclyn shared “I loved how colorful and fluid all of the details of the day were. We are hoping everyone felt like they were on a vacation rather than at a destination wedding.” The location of the Johnston’s wedding is particularly meaningful because of the significance it played at the start of their relationship. “We celebrated our first year dating anniversary at the Miramar Beach Bar and since then have always made a point to go there when we’re in town. Once we decided to get married in Santa Barbara, we loved the idea of bringing our loved ones to create even more happy memories at this same venue.”
To begin their wedding day, Jaclyn and Thomas met at the beach for a long walk together. “We recapped stories from the rehearsal dinner speeches and discussed our excitement for the day ahead of us. It was the perfect way to have uninterrupted time together before the busyness of the day was set in motion.”
The ceremony was held on the pristine lawn of Rosewood Miramar Beach. Leading down the aisle were ground floral arrangements composed of a myriad of colors. At the altar was a spectacular floral arch featuring all of the colors of the rainbow. Following nuptials, Mr. & Mrs. Johnston were showered in flower petals as they recessed down the aisle.
Cocktail hour commenced at the front of the hotel. The picturesque scene was set with mountains framing the Rosewood on one side, and a look out on the ocean from the other. As guests made their way indoors for reception festivities, Jaclyn and Thomas took a moment for themselves. “Instead of getting in position to make our grand entrance, Thomas and I had a cocktail and stayed out on the emptied lawn by ourselves soaking up every last minute of the ocean and mountain views.”
Color painted the ballroom of the Rosewood, with vibrant floral arrangements gracing the table and beautiful china at each place setting. Jaclyn and Thomas had the opportunity to preview the ballroom that Event of the Season designed for them before the party was in full swing. “We heard Everyday People warming up when we saw the ballroom during cocktail hour and they sounded so good! We immediately started dancing and even though my feet were struggling after so much time in heels, I yelled out that the band sounded so good that my feet didn’t hurt anymore.” The majority of the evening was spent out on the dance floor. The energy of the room was indescribable as guests joined in to Everyday People’s incredible performance. Midway through the evening, Jaclyn changed into a show stopping silver mini dress which she paired with the perfect shoes for dancing, silver and black Nike dunks. Thomas sported a pair of his own Nikes, matching his bride.
The Johnston’s wedding weekend was one to remember and we are so grateful to have been a part of it. Congratulations to Jaclyn and Thomas!
