Kaitlyn and Andrew met almost 6 years ago through mutual friends in Austin. She was living in Dallas at the time, and a visit with friends turned out to be the start of a relationship.
On December 23rd, the coldest day of the year, Kaitlyn and Andrew had planned to go to Fachini for a date night before the frenzy of holiday festivities. They were driving to dinner and he pulled the car over near Versailles park. To coax her out of the car and into the cold, Andrew told Kaitlyn “I have an early Christmas present for you… why don’t you go to the gazebo to go meet your new 4 legged friend.” As she approached the gazebo, she was instead greeted by a bottle of champagne and ice bucket set for a proposal.
Wedding planning was soon underway, with dress shopping following shortly after. Kaitlyn chose to wear a beautiful Monique Lhuillier gown that she customized. The dress originally had a pink undertone and straps, but Kaitlyn had designed it to be her own with a strapless neckline and a soft neutral tulle underneath. For her second look of the night, Kaitlyn wore a Danielle Frankel gown. She wanted a sleek and simple look to contrast her wow moment wedding dress.
The Ryans’ reception was held at Brook Hollow Golf Club. Kaitlyn’s family had been going there since she was a little girl, and over the years she had brought Andrew there, making even more new memories. “It was really important to me to get married somewhere that had a familiar and special feel to it” she shared. Kaitlyn looks back fondly on her experience working with Brook Hollow, “they really are the best and took great care of us” she shared.
For the decor, Kaitlyn wanted the space to feel like an elevated restaurant vibe. The room was filled with candles, contributing to a romantic atmosphere. Bright blooms dotted the room, consisting of a unique color palette of grapefruit tones, yellow and lush greens. The color palette mimicked the same tones worn by the bridesmaids, reminiscent of a warm spring day. Kaitlyn gave her bridesmaids freedom to choose dresses of their liking and luckily her sister, and maid of honor, was the only one who chose green. Reflecting on her wedding day as a whole, Kaitlyn shared “My sister was a huge part of the day and was truly the best maid of honor.”
Golden hour gave way to cocktails on the green. Kaitlyn had really been looking forward to treating her guests, and lucky weather that day was absolutely perfect.
The band was a highlight of the reception, bringing the energy of the dancefloor to life and using their trombones as limbos for guests to shimmy under. Drinks were flowing from the Ryans’ ice cocktail bar, a unique twist and show-stopping element! At one point in the evening, all of the guests made a conga line and danced around the perimeter of the ballroom.
It was a fantastic weekend in Dallas celebrating the Ryans! Congratulations Kaitlyn & Andrew!
