On a beautiful late April evening, we had the pleasure of capturing Maddie and Brett’s engagement session on her family’s ranch. “The ranch is in Bosque County, TX. It’s our favorite place to go when we want to get out of Dallas and where Brett proposed, so it was our first choice for where to do the shoot” Maddie shared. The future Sartors planned their portraits for late April in hopes of capturing the bluebonnets in full bloom, but what they arrived to was a beautiful and unexpected surprise. “The fields were full of red and yellow flowers called Indian Blankets. Those colors turned out to be beautiful for the photos, and I’m planning to incorporate those colors in my wedding next fall!” she exclaimed.
Little did Maddie know, the Indian blankets would perfectly coordinate with the looks she planned for their shoot (not to mention how it highlighted her beautiful red hair). For their session Maddie wore a bridal-esque white dress from Anthropologie. Later on, she switched into a strapless yellow and white dress from ShopBop that she paired with cowboy boots.
Sundown on the ranch made for stunning golden hour photos that somehow made the colors of the wildflowers even more vibrant.
We’ve got our sights set on next September when we get to celebrate the Sartors here in Dallas!
