Margaret and Chase’s love story began with a quirky one-liner, a memorable first impression, after Chase first saw her at a mutual friend’s wedding. Though it took nearly a year before their paths crossed again in Dallas, the timing was just right. A New Year’s Eve kiss marked the start of something truly special.
Their love wasn’t all butterflies and flowers, it was drywall and demo, too. Chase inherited a fixer-upper from his grandfather, and the duo began renovating what would later become their home. Once the house was in livable condition, Chase proposed in a hay field with just the two of them. She said “yes,” and the two soaked in the early moments of engagement by riding together on a tractor.
Their wedding date, December 21, 2024, also marked the 71st wedding anniversary of Margaret’s grandparents, who were FaceTimed into the celebration. “They’re both just incredible people, and definitely someone you want to model your marriage after,” Margaret says.
As for the wedding itself, Margaret had a short list of wants: a live band, John Cain Photography, and something covered in bacon. Done, done, and done.
She wore a strapless Essence of Australia gown, with Chase in a white jacket. The real statement came at the reception: blue cowgirl boots Margaret spotted in a Santa Fe shop the year before. After they got engaged, she knew the boots would be her “something blue.” Along with Chase’s new Anderson Bean pair, the cowboy boots were a theme for the wedding details, from koozies to print materials.
White orchids and hydrangeas filled Margaret’s bouquet as she and her father, both teary-eyed, walked down the aisle. The couple celebrated their vows while the sun set over the Dallas Arboretum, accompanied by a live band.
Today, Margaret and Chase are settled into their countryside home. “It’s so calm and peaceful,” she says. “The sunrises are gorgeous. I’m a big runner, and I get to see the sunrise come up on the back roads.”
For Margaret and Chase, love looks like fixing fences, cowboy boots and orchids, and country mornings wrapped in a forever love.
