A love for the ages! On October 9th, 2021, Corbin proposed to Marie at Lakeside Park in Dallas. He drove her to the park in her father’s 1969 Camaro and got down on one knee on the bridge, the exact same way her father proposed to her mother 33 years ago. The pair first met in January of 2021 in Washington D.C., and they were wed in January of 2023. Marie and Corbin’s wedding day encompassed family legacy and incorporated meaningful details from their parents’ and grandparents’ wedding days. Marie’s desire to get married at Brook Hollow Golf Club is inspired by her grandparent’s wedding. “My grandparents were married at Highland Park Presbyterian Church and had their reception at Brook Hollow so it felt like a special family connection.”
Marie wore a modern Monique Lhullier gown with romantic details. The top of her dress featured beautiful lace intricately designed lace and a keyhole back. She paired her wedding dress with a stunning trailing veil with floral lace print. Once ready, she met Corbin out on the lawn for an emotion filled first-look. “It was great getting a moment alone with Corbin in the middle of all of the excitement – it reminded both of us not to stress and to just relax and have fun.”
Following the ceremony, guests gathered at Brook Hollow to celebrate Mr. and Mrs. Lee. The ballroom was decorated in modern decor with accents of dark green. “I wanted something fun and modern – so I decided to pick a dark color for the theme. I thought dark green was perfect for a January wedding!” And perfect it was. Greenery and white flowers covered each entrance arch welcoming party goers to the reception space. A variety of flowers were used including white roses, hydrangeas, orchids and tulips held in glass vases on each table. Green leather lounge seating surrounded the dance floor as well as gold accented bars covered in crystals. The crisp white dance floor was covered in a gold geometric print. At the center was Marie and Corbin’s wedding crest. Above the floor hung dangling strands of sparkling crystals. Near the dancefloor, guests could grab a drink at the Tiger Town Tavern themed bar in honor of Corbin’s college days spent at Clemson. Ice cold drinks were served from an ice luge carved in the shape of Marie and Corbin’s wedding crest.
The party was going and the drinks were flowing as family and friends danced the night away. Marie switched into a second look by Carolina Herrera for the second half of her reception. “I loved the long sleeves of my dress for a winter wedding but wanted to be able to dance later on in the night. The Carolina Herrera dress was perfect!” For a fun surprise, personalized confetti rained down from above while the band performed “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire.
