As sunlight slipped through the stained glass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Fort Worth, TX, Michelle and Kyle said “I do.” Family and friends traveled to Fort Worth to fill rows of pews in the stately Gothic Revival Cathedral, but Michelle’s eyes were locked on Kyle as she made her way down the aisle.
Fort Worth became a destination wedding for the couple who’d lived in many different cities. The invitation suite, designed by Peach Paper Design, set the tone for a glamorous wedding with a touch of Western flair. The true statement of the day, however, was the bride herself.
“I’m not a boring person, and I don’t like boring clothes,” Michelle laughed. After she tried it on at Iconic Bride, she couldn’t stop thinking about the Nicole + Felicia gown with a cape of billowing off-the-shoulder flower embellishments. She purchased it the same day to wear down the aisle along with a Vera Wang veil, a bride more iconic than the shop could have promised. It was her first of three looks of the evening, swapping the cape for more “danceable” gloves at the reception, then slipping into a pearl-studded shift as the party moved into the night.
Michelle’s bridesmaids complemented the color palette with a pop of lavender, vivid against their romantic bouquets of peach roses and moody ranunculus. The reception at Tannahills Tavern and Music Hall was all at once sophisticated and glamorous, while subtle western nods added a touch of whimsy.
Michelle’s mom surprised her by choosing the cake and macarons (the bride’s favorite dessert) at the desert bar. After dessert, the revelry began! Glowsticks and cowboy hats in hand, Kyle and Michelle took to the dance floor with their guests.
