A childhood crush and a ring pop proposal lead to marriage for long time friends Caroline and Trent. “We grew up together! My parents were in his parents’ Sunday school class, and we lived in the same neighborhood, so they were friends before we were born.” They paved their own paths as they grew up, but eventually reunited after their freshman year of college and have been together ever since.
After five years of dating, Trent proposed to Caroline during a quiet and intimate weekend away at her family’s lake house. We “were out at the lake —under the guise that my family was joining us for the weekend—taking a morning stroll around the backyard.” Trent got down on one knee and popped the question to which Caroline excitedly said “yes!”
Following their proposal, Caroline and Trent returned to their hometown of Dallas to celebrate with family and friends at the Dallas Country Club, which would eventually be the venue for their reception. The DCC had always been at the top of mind for Caroline and Trent as they began discussing their wedding plans. “The club’s ballroom provides such a beautiful canvas to work with and transform, and the club is a great mix between old-school Dallas and elegant modernity.”
On the morning of November 5th, Caroline prepared for her wedding at the DCC surrounded by her close friends and family. For her wedding day, Caroline wore a gown designed by Patti Flowers. “I really wanted simplicity and elegance all in one. Patti Flowers was always going to be my dress designer, so I knew I was in good hands! For the fabric, we chose a heavy silk that was closer to an oyster pearl color, which just touched the floor. We also had the open to my waist, and the fabric draped so beautifully. The drape moved so beautifully when we danced! Patti created a dress more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.” A special moment from the morning was Caroline seeing her mom and sisters for the first time. Their reaction was absolutely priceless to seeing Caroline glowing in her bridal look.
Caroline and Trent were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Gahm at Park Cities Baptist Church. Following a beautiful ceremony, it was time to celebrate these sweet newlyweds! The energy in the Dallas Country Club ballroom hit its peak as Downtown Fever performed “Sweet Caroline”. Caroline and Trent joined the band on stage as guests sang from the top of their lungs and gathered on the dance floor below. Congratulations to the Gahms! It was so special to be a part of your wedding day!
