On August 17, 2019 Katie Davis and Miles Abel wed at Robert Carr Chapel followed by a pastel-filled reception at the Fort Worth Club. Wedding day began with Katie’s getting ready portraits at the Fort Worth Club with her sister and mother assisting in the final zipping, tying, and clasping. (Our team had the privilege to photograph Katie’s sister’s wedding so this was especially special!) Katie’s bridesmaids squealed in excitement as they saw the bride for the first time in her Isabelle Armstrong gown and veil. Shortly after, Miles and Katie had their ‘first look’ in the same natural-lit hallway before joining their family at the chapel for portraits ahead of the ceremony.
The couple’s intimate and sweet ceremony alluded to the classic and timeless appeal of the entire day. One of our favorite moments occurred right after the ceremony—the wedding party exited the chapel with huge smiles and quickly gathered around the newlyweds with joy! This emotion carried through to the reception at the club. Inside the reception ballroom at the Fort Worth Club, Tami Winn filled the space with lush, neutral floral and ample touches of gold. Cascading orchids were found wrapped along the bridal cake, dripping from the large chandelier hanging over the monogrammed dance floor, and filling every table. Emerald City Band kept the couple and their guests most of the evening on the dance floor until celebrations were complete. The new Mr. and Mrs. Abel exited the reception to a storm of gold confetti before hopping in the elevator off to their honeymoon!
