Echoe and Shawn shared a romantic wedding day at the Clifton Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia. It was an intimate gathering, but nonetheless a grand production in and of itself.
Echoe looked elegant and editorial in ivory lace. Her trumpeted gown featured a silk crepe, monarch length train, exuding regality and grace. Her floral hairpiece added a charming touch to her princess-esque curls. Shawn and his groomsmen looked sharp in their Marine Dress Blues, with swords at their sides.
Once proclaimed Mr. and Mrs. Garber, the couple was escorted from the altar with an eruption of confetti as they recessed through an arch of swords. Breathtaking hardly begins to describe it!
The cocktail hour area encircled the Clifton Inn swimming pool, and in a fashion of truly utilizing this beautiful space, synchronized swimmers swirled and splashed while guests sipped and stared. One of the more innovative details we’ve seen to date!
The tent in which dinner was served was ethereal and light, like something out of a dream. Layers of white chiffon benevolently swayed around the lace draped dinner table. Lit by candles and lanterns, this idyllic dinner was truly a gift to all in attendance, and an excellent fashion to host an intimate group.
Once the sun went down, it was time for outfit changes for both the bride and groom. Shawn sported a tux, while Echoe changed into a feather-flecked halter mini dress. After slipping into their respective second looks, the couple was undoubtedly ready for the party before them.
In lieu of a traditional wedding cake and in homage to their original wedding reception (which was planned to take place in Italy), Shawn and Echoe hosted a pastry chef who garnished their monstrous millefoglie (a traditional Italian wedding confection) with berries and powdered sugar on the premises. Once the cake had the chef’s seal of approval, the newly weds sliced into it with Shawn’s sword. Jarred peaches with custom labels accompanied these sweet samplings.
Guests danced poolside in the light of the Clifton Inn lanterns as Echoe and Shawn relished their newly wed bliss. What an incredible wedding day! Wishing all the best to these Virginia lovers.
