On June 10th, 2023 Taylor Humphries and Chris Severs were wed at the Montage Palmetto Bluff. In 2016, Taylor’s parents had attended a wedding on the property and raved about what a beautiful place it would be to be married at. Although marriage wasn’t on her mind at the time, she kept the idea in her back pocket. Fast forward to November 2021, Taylor and Chris had been dating for four years. “We were close to Palmetto Bluff and booked a tour at the venue. Little did I know he was planning to propose. I said yes on the Moorland Landing Dock and the rest is history. Plus, we won’t deny it’s pretty cool that the Biebers got married there.” Taylor shared.
The morning of her wedding day, Taylor got ready with the help of hair stylist Brianna Adams and makeup artist Cheryl Quinn. Taylor’s inspiration for her hair was an elevated version of her natural look. “I’ve heard you should wear your hair how you normally wear it on your wedding day. I always wear my hair down and curled. I feel the most confident when it’s down, so the hair choice was a no-brainer!” Her gown, designed by Mira Zwillinger, was purchased at Neiman Marcus Bridal Boutique. “It also had a bolero, I customized the sleeves so that the lace would cascade down my hands. I have never felt more beautiful than when I have that dress on.”
Following their ceremony at May River Chapel, Mr. and Mrs. Severs exited amongst a tunnel of their guests throwing rose petals before heading to their reception. Out on the lawn, a grandiose tent was assembled for the Severs’ celebration. Taylor wanted to keep the decor for her reception classic. “We chose white and moss green as our main colors. I worked with artist Champagne Maker, she painted the woven dance floor, crest, menus, etc.I loved the woven pattern. I am very into fashion, the woven pattern reminded me of Bottega Veneta so it was an immediate winner! Her artwork made a huge impact on the overall decor.” Rows of individual white roses lined the table tops and cascading flower garlands hung from the edges of the tables. “The decor was very representative of our taste as a couple but also of the low country surroundings. We were overwhelmed with the beauty of the reception!”
The celebration kicked off with the Severs popping a bottle of champagne and filling their champagne tower before their guests joined them to party! Friends and family gathered around to watch Taylor and Chris dance for the first time as newlyweds to “River” by Leon Bridges.
Taylor’s second look of the evening was a stunning white gown with a leg slit by Alessandra Rich from Net-A-Porter. “Sophia Richie wore a lot of her designs during her wedding weekend and we can all agree her style has captivated us!” Taylor’s outfit change made a statement for her and Chris’ getaway from their after party. The night was lit up by sparklers as Chris lifted his bride into the air and kissed her before they took off in a golf cart. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Severs!!
