“Walt and I met in 2018 while he was in law school and I was in graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin. One of my close friends took me to a happy hour downtown hosted by her friend who was also at UT Law at the time. Walt happened to be there and we were casually introduced to a big group of his friends. Later on in the evening, we had a chance to talk more and made plans to get dinner a week later. And the rest is history!”
Taylor and Walt tied the knot on March 11th, 2023 in the Texas hill country. Their ceremony and reception took place on the gorgeous grounds of Canyonwood Ridge. The venue is meaningful to the Bakers because it is just outside Austin, the city where they met and fell in love. “The hill country is special to both of us, and we hoped our guests were just as enamored with the views from the ridge at Canyonwood as we are.”
Taylor’s vision for their wedding day was elegant and minimalistic. Their color scheme incorporated green white, ivory and touches of gold. “We wanted every detail to cohesively fit the simple beauty of spring in the Texas hill country. I also wanted to bring the outdoors in with lots of greenery!”
As the sun set on the hill country, the party came to life. An important part of the wedding to Walt was the band, and the Royal Dukes Band brought the energy. After an evening of celebration in honor of the Bakers, Taylor and Walt shared one last private dance before exiting in a getaway car. Cheers to you, Mr. and Mrs. Baker!
