On a beautiful March day in her hometown of Dallas, Texas, Whitney and Hunter welcomed loved ones to town for their wedding weekend. The couple first crossed paths while participating in a segment for Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show at their alma mater, The University of Texas. You can read the details of their first encounter on our blog here. Since then, the pair has been inseparable. Hunter proposed in March 2023, one year before their wedding day.
The day started with Whitney and her bridesmaids enjoying champagne and sharing stories at the DCC as she prepared to slip into her elegant Romona Keveza gown. Accompanied by her bridesmaids and family, Whitney then headed to Christ the King Catholic Church.
As the church doors opened, Whitney entered arm-in-arm with her father, walking down the aisle toward an eagerly waiting Hunter, moved by the moment.
After exchanging vows and rings, the newlyweds, now Mr. and Mrs. McKenna, welcomed their guests to a stunning reception at the DCC. The ballroom was a floral wonderland, with archways adorned in pink, orange, and green blooms and greenery cascading toward a custom bar featuring the couple’s monogram and delicate floating butterflies. The decor included a stunning seven-tier cake from Dallas Affaires Cake Co., designed to echo the intricacies of Whitney’s gown. Butterfly-themed menus awaited each guest, and grand glass vases crowned the tables. In a tribute to their college days, Bevo, the iconic UT mascot, made a guest appearance, delighting Longhorn fans with photo opportunities.
The dance floor was alive with performances from Whitney and her fellow UT cheerleaders, followed by a spirited display from the cheer team she coaches. As the night unfolded, guests donned hard hats—a playful homage to Hunter’s career in oil and gas. Whitney switched to a chic mini dress paired with Valentino heels for the latter part of the evening. The celebration continued well into the night, culminating in a private last dance for the couple. They made their grand exit under a shower of rose petals, with guests waving pom-poms, a fitting send-off for the joyous occasion. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. McKenna!
