For Alexis and Porter, Vero Beach wasn’t just a picturesque wedding backdrop, it was a place woven into the fabric of their lives. Porter’s family had spent years vacationing there, and with the Atlantic coastline stretching behind them, Johns Island Club became the perfect setting to gather loved ones for an elegant January wedding. Blue accents and all-white florals filled the clear-top tent, creating the sensation of dancing beneath the stars, while the ocean breeze and cloudless sky made for a dreamlike day.
Their love story began in 2018 through mutual friends, leading to a romantic Napa Valley proposal that inspired thoughtful details throughout the celebration; from serving wine from the very winery where Porter proposed, to a 9L bottle of wine serving as the “guest book”. Alexis honored her late father in a touching way, carrying his wedding band, reimagined as a pendant, on her bouquet so that he walked with her down the aisle.
After practicing dance lessons for 8 months, Alexis and Porter’s first dance to “The Way You Look Tonight” segued to a lively swing to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” the couple’s choreography set the tone for an evening of nonstop energy. The band kept guests on their feet all night: even sparking an unforgettable moment when Alexis and Porter were lifted above the crowd, surfing to the beat of “Mr. Brightside.” With perfect weather, heartfelt tributes, and a celebration that blended coastal charm with unfiltered joy, their wedding was a wonderful reflection of love, family, and the magic of being surrounded by those who matter most in their new hometown.
