The Irvin’s love story began when Courtney moved back home to Tennessee from Dallas in order to be closer to family. At the time, Hennelly was in his second year of orthodontic residency in Memphis. After realizing they had mutual friends in Hennelly’s residency program, they decided to meet for dinner at South of Beale in downtown Memphis. Courtney moved into her apartment on a Tuesday night and had her first date with Hennelly two nights later on March 14th, 2024. The rest is history.
When it came time to plan their wedding, the couple envisioned a day that reflected faith, elegance, and timeless beauty. They chose to exchange vows at Second Presbyterian Church, where Courtney’s parents had been married 34 years earlier. Before the ceremony, they shared a meaningful private first look, calming their nerves and exchanging personalized Bibles and letters they had written for each other. The church was filled with the grandeur of organs, a string quartet, and even bagpipes, creating a sacred and unforgettable atmosphere. The ceremony concluded with roaring applause as the couple sealed their vows with a kiss.
The celebration continued with a fairy-tale reception at The Peabody Hotel’s Continental Ballroom, where the charm of Memphis met an enchanting, magical atmosphere. Guests were treated to an open bar, a specialty margarita bar, and late-night espresso martinis to keep the energy high. The Downtown Band brought the party to life, and the dance floor stayed full all evening as friends and family celebrated the new couple. Special moments included the couple’s first dance to “Spin You Around” and an emotional father-daughter dance to “Butterfly Kisses.” Every detail, from Courtney getting ready in the Jackson Room with her bridesmaids to the heartfelt speech from her father at the rehearsal dinner, came together to create a weekend overflowing with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
From start to finish, Courtney and Hennelly’s wedding fell in line like ducks in a row. It was a reflection of their deep love for one another, their devotion to their faith, and the joy they share with the people who mean the most to them.
