Will Decker and Katie Lemon know how to set their own pace in their own style. On November 17, 2018 they wed at popular venue Arlington Hall at Oak Lawn Park, but we have never seen this venue transform so well to fit a couple’s aesthetic. Love birds in an antique cage sang at the welcome table, smilax vines wrapped the Arlington Hall columns, fall fruit adorned the wedding cake, and a stuffed peacock even hung at the mantel. The entire evening felt very Old World cozy, which was a heavy influence on the design. Katie told D Weddings, “I told my florist I wanted it to be very moody, and he definitely delivered.”
Katie’s bridal look was just as chic. Instead of a bouquet, Garden Gate designed a baby’s breath boa for Katie to wrap herself in—a detail she saw on the runway for Rodarte Spring/Summer 2018. “I had a hard time imagining myself carrying a bouquet and opted for something slightly less traditional. It added a really beautiful element of drama,” Katie told D Weddings. We couldn’t agree more! Right before the ceremony, Katie stood waiting perfectly inline with a sconce. The light which reflected off her Inbal Dror dress and veil created a “Heavenly Bodies” Met moment which we adorned seeing on the Winter 2019 cover of D Weddings.
