Every moment spent with Byers, Matthew, and their families, was truly delightful. After meeting at a dinner with mutual friends, Byers and Matthew hit it off and became engaged a few years later. Our team had the fortune of capturing Byers and Matthew just after their proposal last summer and then their “I do” on February 8, 2020. The couple married at Park Cities Presbyterian Church and celebrated their marriage at the Dallas Country Club. Byers and her maids spent the morning in excited anticipation getting dressed and taking portraits together in the Dallas Country Club arched hallway. Byers wore a custom lace Nardos Design gown and her maids wore white Joanna August gowns. Their monochromatic look foreshadowed the elegant reception aesthetic being set in the ballroom close-by—all white floral arranged in a mix of acrylic stands and ginger jars by Garden Gate Floral.
Byers told our team beautiful photography and marrying at Park Cities Presbyterian Church were some of the most important aspects of wedding day to her. As Byers and her father stoodd behind the chapel doors, awaiting the processional and the big entrance, they shared many smiles and sweet father-daughter moments. Byers and Matthew decided to forgo a first look making her walk down the aisle highly anticipated. As the doors opened and Matthew watched Byers come down the aisle, the wedding ceremony began. The couple shared traditional vows, a ‘first kiss’, and a joyous celebration back down the aisle as husband and wife!
Right outside the steps of PCPC, Byers and Matthew shared a kiss as new husband and wife before meeting their friends and family at the Dallas Country Club. The couple hired Alison Baker Events to coordinate their classic and elegant country club wedding day. A large floral arch welcomed guests to the ballroom which was bedecked in an abundance of white floral and timeless details. The couple entered swayed to ‘I Got You Under My Skin’ for their first dance, a song special to the them throughout the entirety of their relationship. This was followed by Byers and Mr. Petty’s father-daughter dance to “You are the Best Thing” which was played live by the band. Shortly after dinner, Professor D band kept the party on the dance floor, even playing the Aggie War Hymn for all Aggies (including the bride and groom) in attendance before ending the night. Guests danced with festive foam sticks, flower crowns, and delicious Whataburger honey butter chicken biscuits before the night came to a close. The new Mr. and Mrs. Hellinghausen escaped in a white vintage Rolls Royce after their friends and family wished them farewell with white rose petals and warm wishes.
