Though Madison and Alex have differing stories of when they first met, it is safe to say that it was love at first sight for both of them. The two met through mutual friends while in college and were smitten with each other from the start.
The couple tied the knot at Park Cities Baptist Church, where the bride and her family have been members for many years. It was a sweet serendipity for Madison to say “I do” in the same chapel where she once stood singing “hallelujah” in a tinsel halo!
After portraits were briskly taken outside the chapel (which you would never be able to tell, because of the bride and groom’s warm smiles!) the newlyweds made their way to the Hotel Crescent Court to celebrate!
The bride worked closely with Shane Walker Designs to create the floral arrangements that dressed the reception space. She was very meticulous in her flower choices as she wanted the entire atmosphere to remain ageless, hoping to one day look back at her images in 50 years and find everything just as beautiful as it was today.
Madison’s cake, courtesy of Fancy Cakes by Lauren, had a really special detail as well. Her cake topper was created by Ida Mae Stark, a groundbreaking cake baker in Texas known for her sugar flowers and ornate style. This artist designed Madison’s mother’s cake, who still had in her possession the cake topper she used on her own wedding day. When they asked Lauren to incorporate it into Madison’s cake, Lauren said it was like holding an Oscar getting to see one of Ida Mae’s floral creations.
Madison and her groom almost floated with the bubbles as they exited their reception. The night came to a close when a horse drawn carriage carried them away from the party and into their newlywed life!
