Not only was the diamond in Jordan’s engagement ring her grandmother’s, but Jordan and Scott’s wedding date was also the same as her grandparents’, years later. To Jordan, they were ‘Mam’ and ‘Bubba’, and they would have been married 67 years to the day on August 2nd, 2021. They were married on a Monday, and coincidentally their anniversary fell on a Monday this year as well. Jordan gleefully jumped at the chance to honor her family’s legacy and share an anniversary with the grandparents she had been so incredibly close with her entire life. In her words, “Sometimes, things are meant to be”. This beautiful, fateful day was such a privilege to be a part of!
Jordan and her bridal party got ready at her mother’s home in Shreveport, her grandmother’s bridal portrait proudly displayed in the living room all the while. Close family friend Michael Angelo did everyone’s makeup and affectionately administered touch ups to Jordan throughout the day. Walking into the house that day, the excitement was already heavily present.
Jordan and Scott got married in the church she grew up attending in her hometown of Shreveport. Her mother, Waynette looked on her proudly as the finishing touches to her bridal look were placed and perfected. Jordan’s a-line ball gown was as charming as ever. She was the picture of a truly timeless bride. Mother and daughter both wore Manolo Blahnik heels, and Waynette’s pair was complete with a blue hued embellishment to complement her custom Nardos dress.
Muted pastels and dynamic floral patterns showered the East Ridge Country Club as guests poured into the reception. Colony House Floral utilized the sweetest Spring colors to create a soft and pleasing tonal palate. Jordan and Scott’s wedding cake stood at attention in the middle of the tent, a show-stopping centerpiece. We learned on this Monday that our bride has a considerable sweet tooth. Indulging this, she had an entire trellis candy bar on the patio of their reception space.
As a surprise to Jordan from her mother, everyone was asked to exit the tent for a special presentation at the end of the evening. As Jordan held her now husband close, a firework show showered them with light. The celebratory spirit was palpable, and not just due to the second line exit led by the bride and groom.
The two left, now Mr. and Mrs. Danvers, and we’re left with amazing memories from our very first Monday wedding! Cheers to many happy years together as husband and wife!
