Michal and Richard’s love story started in 8th grade computer science class. “He walked in, swooped his Justin Beiber hair, and my jaw dropped”. That Bieber swoop will have that effect on you. From that day, the pair became friends in high school. After years of friendship and attending different colleges, they reconnected. After almost three years of dating, Richard proposed to Michal at the spot where they had their first date, Gore Park. Three years prior they sat on the lawn and it started to rain, so they took shelter under the gazebo. Richard brought Michal back to the same spot and popped the question. Quite the full circle moment!
Flash forward to April 23rd, 2022, Michal and Richard’s wedding day. Their ceremony took place at Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Michal and Richard opted out of a first-look, making her walk down the aisle to him all the more special and emotion filled. After a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Kumpf recessed down the aisle as newlyweds!
From the church, Michal and Richard and their bridal party rode on a trolley to the Dallas Country Club for the reception. The Kumpf’s sure now how to make an entrance! For a unique take on a first dance, Michal and Richard did their first dance on the bridge of the golf course leading up to cocktail hour for their guests to watch. Cocktail hour had many fun features including a kissing booth with puppies, and a bartender in a champagne skirt!
The DCC ballroom was elegantly decorated in green and white. Blue velvet sofas and gold high top tables provided by Perch Event decor scattered the ballroom for guests to relax at in between dancing. Disco ball themed dancers ushered guests towards the dancefloor led by while the Spazmatics played on stage. Michal and Richard joined the band on stage and danced the night away! As celebrations wound down, Michal and Richard were led to their getaway car by a gospel choir. After streamers were thrown and the choir concluded, it was time to send the Kumpf’s off in a tunnel of sparklers.
