Kay Weir & John Lee Harrison

Sparks flew for Kay and John Lee at the Fort Worth Rodeo, fitting for the pair who both grew up in Fort Worth! “John Lee caught my attention at the tents after the show, and with my sister’s encouragement, I marched right up to introduce myself.” Kay was drawn to John Lee’s infectious personality and charm, and he was mesmerized by her elegance and wit. “By the end of the night, we were smitten and started dating without missing a beat!”

During the week of their two year anniversary, John Lee proposed at Kay’s family lakehouse, a meaningful location to the pair who spent many days together there during the pandemic, naming it their “cozy covid cove”. After the proposal, both families gathered at Kay’s parent’s home for an intimate dinner.

On November 19th, Kay and John Lee were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Harrison at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth. For her wedding day, Kay wore a gorgeous gown by Dany Tabet, royal-inspired wedding dress, which she found at Anna Be Bridal in Dallas along with her veil. “The high neck, long sleeves and head-to-toe floral lace caught my attention when I spotted it in the store window. I knew it was my wedding dress from the beginning because it complimented my personal style and aesthetic.”

The Harrison’s reception was held at the Fort Worth Club. “With both our roots being in Fort Worth, we always knew we wanted to get married in our hometown. We had a whirlwind of a day looking at various venues, but nothing felt quite right until our final stop at The Fort Worth Club—when everything just clicked! We loved its elegance, tradition and history; stepping into the ballroom was like stepping back in time. Our families have been members there for generations, so it felt like the perfect place to throw a party!” The room was decorated with antiques and beautiful floral arrangements. “The dinner tables were dressed up in antique candelabras, the chandeliers had cascading greenery and the flower arrangements were full of my favorite colors in my mother’s heirloom chinoiserie vases.”

After an intimate candlelit dinner, it was time for dancing! Kay debuted a spectacular second look with frills! She always knew she wanted to do an outfit change because of her love for fashion and design. “I wanted a memorable outfit change that matched my party energy and allowed me to dance the night with the Georgia Bridgewater Band! What I loved most was the linen-silk ruffles and tea length cut. I remember Stephanie asking me, “are you sure you want to dance in those glittery pumps?” and I responded with “this dress was designed for heels, beauty above pain every day!”‘ One of Kay’s favorite memories from her reception was dancing on stage to “Man! I Feel like A Woman”, while John Lee’s favorite part was cutting their stunning six tier cake. “But the most intimate times for both of us were before and after, as we had a few minutes to walk through the reception as husband and wife, enjoying the splendor of the moment before the doors opened to all our guests, and a quiet dance to cap the evening off as the band played “Strangers in the Night”.”

Following an epic sendoff, the Harrison’s set off for the stockyards to continue the celebration! Congratulations to an amazing couple!
