Kailee and Rex hit it off quickly, connecting over their shared time in Virginia, time spent in DC, and before long, they were building a life together in Dallas.
Planning their wedding at Dallas Country Club was a partnership from the start. Kailee and Rex found joy in collaboration, each bringing opinions and creativity to make the day uniquely theirs. Music and dancing were priorities, with Rex determined to keep the dance floor alive all night, while Kailee focused on creating a reception that felt effortless and enjoyable for every guest.
“We wanted people dancing all night,” Rex shared. “We didn’t want anyone feeling stuck at a table. We wanted it to feel like one big celebration.”
That vision came to life through layered green draping, candlelit tables, white calla lilies, and a reception space inspired by the intimacy of a jazz club. Long-stemmed calla lilies echoed the clean lines of Kailee’s gown, while dramatic draping transformed the ballroom into something cinematic and transportive.
Their ceremony at church became one of the most meaningful parts of the entire weekend. Kailee and Rex personally served communion to their guests, an intentional choice that transformed the ceremony into something deeply communal and interactive. “It was quiet and still, but meaningful and deep,” Rex said. “To have everyone from every part of our life there together felt incredibly special.”
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds returned to the reception for one of their favorite moments of the day: privately revealing the ballroom to one another before guests entered. Seeing the draped green walls, candlelight, florals, and packed cocktail hour below on the lawn felt like the culmination of every conversation, mood board, and late-night decision that had shaped the months before.
The reception itself unfolded exactly as they had hoped: energetic, immersive, and constantly in motion. Guests moved between food stations, crowded the dance floor, and celebrated beneath the glow of candlelight and live music. The couple even slipped away briefly for a private dinner where they sampled every station before rejoining the party for the remainder of the night.
Personal details were woven throughout the evening in ways that felt playful rather than performative. Ice sculptures modeled after their two dogs greeted guests during the reception, while Kailee’s champagne and key lime wedding cake featured delicate ruffled detailing inspired by the movement and texture of her gown. Later in the evening, she changed into a Danielle Frankel bubble-hem mini dress that perfectly matched the celebratory spirit of the dance floor.
More than any single design element or tradition, what lingered most from the day was the overwhelming sense of connection woven through every moment. Friends from different chapters of life mingled effortlessly, family members celebrated side by side, and the dance floor remained full until the very end.
