A Timeless Romance: Allison & Michael’s Fairytale Wedding at Christ the King Church and Union Station
Some love stories are written long before the first date. For Allison and Michael, their journey began in first grade. Later, Michael harbored a quiet crush on the girl who sat across from him in fourth-grade. Finally, their childhood friendship turned into a high school romance and after growing up side by side, they knew they’d found forever in each other.
Their wedding was not only a celebration of their love, but a reflection of family, friends, legacy, and the city that shaped their lives.
For Allison, the wedding day began in her childhood home. It was peaceful, nostalgic, and filled with love. A perfect setting for quiet moments and heartfelt memories as she prepared to walk down the aisle.
The ceremony was held at Christ the King Catholic Church, a sacred space filled with personal meaning. It was on the steps of this very church where Michael had proposed, and now it was where they exchanged vows.
During the homily, Father Arthur shared a touching detail: throughout their lives, Allison and Michael had received nearly every sacrament together. Standing at the altar, surrounded by family, was an emotional, full-circle moment that Allison later shared was her favorite memory of the day.
After the ceremony, guests made their way to Union Station in downtown Dallas, a historic landmark that holds deep roots for Allison’s family. With its grand, timeless architecture and sweeping scale, it was the perfect setting for a wedding that honored tradition and elegance. It’s also where Allison’s parents were married, making the venue choice especially meaningful. Alllison had always known she’d wanted her wedding to be there.
The transformation of the space was nothing short of breathtaking. The entire venue was wrapped in florals. Before the guests entered, a hush before the revelry, Allison, Michael, and their parents had a private and intimate reveal of the space they’d spent months planning.
Kristin Butler with Fabulous Fête and Bella Flora brought Allison’s dream of a lavender-inspired wedding to life with a lush, wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling display of hydrangeas, roses, orchids, and peonies. Gauzy purple lights bathed the room in warmth, while floral patterns danced across the ceiling in a soft, romantic glow. Purple linens, candlelight, and a string trio of violins added to the ambiance, creating a space that felt cozy and dreamlike, despite its grand scale.
Personal touches were everywhere. One of the most meaningful was from the newlyweds themselves. Allison and Michael wrote a personal letter to every single guest in attendance. Each note was unique, written with love, and expressed their gratitude for each person’s role in their lives. It was a deeply thoughtful gesture that left a lasting impression and made every guest feel truly seen and cherished.
Art played a special role in the day as well. Susan Moss created a custom painting for Allison as a wedding gift, just as she had done for Allison’s sister Lauren, on her wedding day. In a touching gesture of her own, Allison commissioned Susan to create a second painting, this one a surprise gift for her mother. A heartfelt expression of love, legacy, and the bond between generations.
As her mother said so perfectly: “Allison and Michael bring people together.”
One of Susan’s favorite moments of the night was watching the dance floor filled with friends and family, all singing the Texas A&M fight song and celebrating with joy and abandon. The energy was electric, fun, loving, and so deeply personal.
Allison and Michael’s wedding was more than just beautiful. It was layered with history, tradition, gratitude, and heart. A true celebration of love that spanned generations and honored their journey from childhood classmates to husband and wife. Huber ever after!
