After seven years of blossoming love, Kathryn and Ford tied the knot on a seamless, sunny October day.
Their love story began out in the wild, when they were introduced by coworkers and discovered a number of mutual friends. Naturally, their wedding felt like one big reunion. “It was such an overwhelming feeling to see so many different people all in one room that we love so much,” Kathryn says. “People are really important to both Ford and I.”
The ceremony took place in the church Kathryn grew up in, with a record-setting 18 friends standing by each of them. Kathryn walked down the aisle with her brother, who gave her away in tribute to their late father while Ford waited, smiling. Her veil had a butterfly embroidered into the fabric, a nod to the butterflies that flew from her father’s casket at his funeral. “He was there in spirit,” she said. Kathryn’s mom and grandmother, as well as Ford’s loved ones, flanked the couple in post-ceremony portraits.
Kathryn wore a gown by Sareh Nouri, “I lean more toward classic styles,” she explains. “It was just simple enough, but also I felt like it had a bit of personality.” A full bouquet of white florals by Stanton Floral & Weddings added to her look.
The morning began at her mother’s home, getting ready with her best friends who prayed over her before leaving. “After they left, it hit me: This is finally my day,” she gushes. “You grow up thinking about your wedding day and praying for your husband. I don’t think it really hit me until that moment that I was actually the bride.”
As guests arrived at the reception, they were greeted by greenery cascading from chandeliers and florals spilling onto the dance floor. Haylie Paige Events brought the couple’s vision to life. And her photographer, Stephanie, of John Cain Photography captured every moment with grace. “I felt like she truly cared so much about making sure that I felt my best,” Kathryn.
The non-negotiables in planning were simple: great music and all their favorite people in one place, which led to a reception of dancing and joy all night long. “I don’t think I’ve smiled or had that much fun in forever,” Kathryn says.
