“Griffin and I met through mutual friends while we were living in Chicago. We hit it off right away and he asked me to go out on a date, however we never ended up going out due to our schedules. Almost 9 months later, we ran into each other again at a bar in Chicago and we spent the whole night talking. This time we went out on a date right away and the rest is history”
In December of 2021, Griffin proposed to Julie on the beach. Flash forward less than a year later, Griffin and Julie were married at the Kansas City Country Club on the fifteenth of October.
To start her wedding, Julie got all dolled up with her bridesmaids by her side. She stepped into her dress with the help of her mom and sister. Julie wore a simple and chic gown by Romona Keveza. Her bridesmaids wore sleek black gowns which perfectly fit her classic and traditional vision for her wedding.
The ceremony was held at St. Andrew’s Church in Kansas City. “We got married in the same church where my parents and my brother and sister-in-law got married. I grew up going to church there and always pictured myself getting married there.”
Post ceremony festivities took place at the Kansas City Country Club in a beautiful transparent tent. “I always dreamed of getting married in a clear-space structure and so my Mom and I worked hard to design it.” White flower arrangements and greenery decorated the interior of the tent, with grand centerpieces topping the tables. As a nod to Griffin’s favorite NFL team, Take the Cake Kansas City created a Cincinnati Bengals inspired cake. Julie’s cake was an impressive seven tiers, with flowers sprawling the side. Following cake cutting, Julie and Griffin joined their guests on the dance floor to celebrate. Glowing cowboy hats were distributed and confetti rained down from the ceiling.
The Dolles kept their party going with a disco themed after party inside the club. Julie rocked her second look of the night, a white mini dress with sequin fringe, perfect for dancing and celebrating into the night! In the party room, silver balloons covered the ceiling and a neon sign reading “The Dolles” hung behind the DJ stand. What an incredible night celebrating such a fun couple!
