Ryann started her wedding day with a hair and makeup party with her bridesmaids at her mother’s home. “Something that was really special was that my mom moved into her house a year before we got married, and then three months before we got married we bought the house next door! I got ready at my mom’s and the guys got ready at our house.”
Her bridesmaids wore matching emerald green pjs from Peppermayo, while she wore a long robe with feather sleeves from Bronx and Bronco. Her slippers, from Wolf & Badger, were trimmed with feathers as well. She was coordinated from head to toe! After a few finishing touches, she slipped into her dress by Berta with the help of her mother, sister and grandmother. “My inspiration for what I was wearing was ethereal and fairy-like. The vines on my dress tied in the headpiece I wore and my earrings”. To accessorize her look, Ryann wore Christian Louboutin shoes and a STUNNING headpiece of gold and flower detailing. To incorporate something blue, Ryann wore flower earrings with sapphires.
Before becoming Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham, Ryann and Danny elected to do a private first-look. It was such a sweet and emotion-filled moment. Then it was off to the Zoo to say ‘I do’! In the early evening, guests arrived for the ceremony held at the Reserve Pavilion of the Zoo. When deciding where to get married Ryann said that “It was Danny’s idea to do the Zoo. We looked no further because we knew in our hearts that it was perfect for us!”
Ribbons of orange and pink dangled from the trees overhead. At the altar stood a floral arch made of peachy pinks, shades of orange and hints of green. Ryann and Danny were pronounced husband and wife surrounded by family, friends and wildlife! Following the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham fed the giraffes on the deck of the African Safari section of the Zoo.
At cocktail hour, guests partied with parrots, opossums and owls before heading into the reception. The Zoo’s event pavilion was transformed into a colorful paradise. Umbrellas of pink, orange, green and blue trailed the pathway into the tent and hung from the ceiling above. Vibrant orange and blue linens brightened up the space. Flower arrangements made of tropical leaves, anthuriums, proteas and orchids stood tall atop the tables. Ryann planned everything herself from top to bottom. “I was very thoughtful in every detail. I was my own planner. I wanted it to be us and it made it that much more special knowing that not only am I marrying the love of my life, but I did it for us and we did it together.”
For this bee-keeper bride, Creme de la Creme Cake Company created a four tiered light blue cake with gold vines and white flowers. Not only did they create a beautiful stacked cake, but also a buzz-worthy bee hive cake complete with little sugar bees!
Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham put on a show for guests as they danced to “The Night We Met”, (one of my absolute favorite songs). After cake and cocktails, the dance floor got wild with light-up cowboy hats and tambourines. The night concluded with Ryann and Danny sharing a private last dance before heading out in a flurry of silver streamers.
A colorful weekend at the Fort Worth Zoo with Ryann and Danny! We loved every moment of this vibrant and wild wedding celebration. From the rainbow colors to the furry friends at the reception, each detail reflected the couple’s fun personalities!
